Albers & Company and The Wilson Agency Complete Merger; Announce Leadership Transition
December 8, 2015

 Donna Albers retired December 4 and Lon Wilson, President and Chief Executive of The Wilson Agency succeeded her as President. The changes are part of the long-planned merger, completed last August, of the two growing independent regional benefits, human resource and financial service companies. Albers & Company founder Steve Albers and Lon Wilson envisioned the merger before Steve passed away in 2012. Donna is continuing her support of local community organizations and remains invested in the company’s ongoing success.

Over the years he has worked with both small and large insurance brokerage firms, as well as a couple of Third Party Administrators, and has experience working on employer groups of all sizes and types. Albers Teleweb-  Marriage and Domestic Partners

 On June 30, 2014 many, but not all, states registered domestic partnerships will be converted to marriage. This was in response to a new law passed in 2012 which outlined how state registered domestic partnerships are to be converted. The rules differ for same versus opposite sex couples, and if either individual is 62 or older. Albers teleweb walked us through the history, including the impact of DOMA and the Windsor decision. Mostly we identified a step-by-step action plan you can use to ensure your organization is compliant when the July 1st change goes into effect. Did you miss our teleweb? Joey Mertlich Join's Albers

We are pleased to announce our new Advisor, Joey Mertlich. Joey spent 5 years calling on healthcare accounts as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the South Puget Sound region. Then he transitioned into financial services as an investment advisor specializing in insurance products. Joey is excited to combine his passion for health, business, and people at Albers & Company. Did you recently drive by Albers building, look up and wonder where the building signs went? If you did, we are happy to announce that the building signs are back up and better than ever before. We have upgraded our signs with new LED lighting so that we are brighter and can be seen better on your daily commute. Look for the new Albers logo when you drive by, or stop in and say hi!

With close to 200 people in attendance, we would say that this event was a huge success!  Here at Albers we believe life is better paired up; this was emphasized after seeing the great relationships with have built throughout the community, with our clients, and vendors.
